Grown weary longing for the days when MTV would play music videos and broke up-and-coming artists?  Look no further than Revolt TV.

Diddy‘s new cable network (on Comcast and Time Warner) dedicated to musicians “who put time into their visuals and artistry” strives to become the “new #1 name in music” by letting fans run its content through social media.

Launched October 21, from Biggie’s childhood stoop in Brooklyn, the channel promises to push the envelope and provide a platform for quality music from various genres and eras.

With videos ranging from Hip Hop’s A$AP Rocky to Techno’s Gesaffelstein and Rock’s Phoenix, the diverse mix of visuals is a breath of fresh air for music fans who were left for dead with MTV shows like Jersey Shore and Teen Mom in lieu of the long-lived TRL or Unplugged.

The outlet’s resuscitation of the music video also offers hope to the myriad of unsigned artists dreaming of stardom.  Within the first 24 hours of premiering, a song “Beat Up Kidz” by The oOohh Baby Gimme Mores, a band with only 217 followers on Twitter, was aired to the masses.

Of course, mainstream artists like Macklemore and Ryan Lewis and Miley Cyrus (not to mention Diddy’s girl, Cassie) are shown plenty of love, but they provide the Pop Culture conversation pieces and fashion trends the current generation of music enthusiasts have only been able to watch sporadically via Vevo and YouTube.

Though the programming itself is not particularly groundbreaking, it may be the catalyst that may once again spark creativity, unite the music community and also expose viewers to new artists without the hassle of scouring blogs, relying on radio or word of mouth.
